Is it necessary to get a Licensed Plumber to install my water / plumbing appliances?

Absolutely not! Not only will this harsh product eat away at the drain hose of your dishwasher (potentially creating even more damage), it is also likely NOT to unclog a plugged area, leaking dangerous fumes back into your home. Instead, it's best to contact a plumber if you feel it is a particle back-up related issue OR an Appliance Guy if its mechanical / electrical related.

Certainly! You probably need a plumber to come by and use an Auger to clean out the sink. There could be a build-up of various matter over time that a plunger won't be able to just pop out.

Hey Joe. What is a Washlet?

A Washlet is essentially a toilet and bidet in one. There are a great solution Handicap washrooms, condos, small washrooms, or even just for those wanting something fun in their bathroom.... A Washlet is newer technology, which introduces you to a level unprecedented comfort, while delivering on the promise of maximum cleanliness. At your command, an integrated, self-cleaning nozzle extends to release a warm, soothing stream of aerated water to provide the ultimate in personal cleansing.

What is a safe/acceptable level of lead? What is Newmarket's level?

How do I know my water is safe to drink?

Town's generally take every precaution to ensure safe drinking water. Newmarket performs testing on 24 samples of water on a weekly basis from all areas of Town to ensure that the water is safe and clean for drinking. The water is tested for e-coli and other forms of bacteria. Newmarket's annual water inspection by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) found that Newmarket is 100 per cent compliant with the MOE requirements. This is not to say that the water isn't "hard", will leave your skin and hair feeling great after a shower, or that you will not get hard water spots and calcium damage / build-up in your fixtures. Although the water is safe, it may not meet your personal taste and texture preferences for drinking and every day use. For this reason, we would recommend a softener in more homes, especially in Newmarket. (Source: Town of Newmarket)

Is it necessary to get a Licensed Plumber to install my water / plumbing appliances?

Most defiantly! A licensed plumber will ensure that your necessary plumbing / water lines are PROPERLY installed in your home so that your new appliances will work in their OPTIMAL performance. They will also have the know-how and education to be able to suggestion possible "better ways" of connecting them. In addition, a LICENSED & INSURED plumber will give you the reassurance you need that you're not going to "sprout a leak" in any of the lines installed. Heard of any dishwasher or water line malfunctions? Avoid costly mistakes by the unlicensed professional. Appliance retailers are notorious for sending out unlicensed plumbers and general appliance installers for plumbing related installs.
